Job Summary

The University of Northern Colorado is a Doctoral Research-Extensive institution enrolling 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students, founded in 1889, located in the City of Greeley, Colorado with a growing population of 90,000. The program announces one contract renewable faculty position. Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) is nationally and internationally regarded with alumni holding prominent leadership positions in P-12 and higher education. The program offers principal and administrator licensure and Master of Arts, Educational Specialist, and Educational Doctorate degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. The University of Northern Colorado is a member of the University Council of Educational Administration.

ELPS seeks a full-time contract renewable assistant professor with responsibilities to include the following:
• Teaching and advising Master, Educational Specialist, and Education Doctoral degree students and principal and administrative licensure students
• Teaching in multiple delivery models and locations
• Supervising doctoral research/dissertations
• Conducting and publishing research
• Participating in program development
• Collaborating with other higher education institutions, P-12 schools, and other educational organizations

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have the following:
• Administrative experience in P-12 schools
• An earned doctorate from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education in educational leadership or a related field (completed before August 2017)
• The ability to teach P-12 educational administration content areas, such as P-12 administration, organization development, human resources management, principalship, supervision and evaluation, and school and level leadership
• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
• The ability to direct doctoral dissertations

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications/experiences include the following:
• Ability to teach educational leadership issues from a culturally diverse perspective
• A record of scholarship and publications appropriate for the rank of Assistant Professor
• Teaching experience in higher education

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
