Job Summary

This is a 9 month, full-time tenure-track nursing faculty position as an assistant/associate professor for undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching, scholarship (including publications), and service to the School of Nursing, College of Natural and Health Sciences, the University of Northern Colorado, and the profession. The primary teaching and student supervision will consider the individual’s clinical specialty and experience, teaching experience, and research, and grant and publication record.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Research Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field. Candidates with a DNP will not meet minimum qualifications for this position. Those who have defended their dissertations, but not yet graduated will be considered. Clinical experience as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse is required. At least one graduate degree must be in nursing. Each candidate must be eligible for an unencumbered RN license in the State of Colorado by the position start date. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for, teaching excellence in traditional and online settings, scholarly activity including publications, ability to secure outside funding, and an interest in serving the profession of nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification and practice, teaching/research experience in nursing at the baccalaureate or higher levels, and evidence of research trajectory including dissemination and publication.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
