Job Summary

Under the supervision of the director of Extended Campus, this position will assist in supporting Faculty with instructional design issues, technical support regarding the learning management system, online pedagogies and media development for online/face-to-face teaching and course development. In addition, this position will be responsible for creating course graphics and simple marketing materials for the Instructional Design and Development team which is part of the Extended Campus team. In addition, it will serve as course-related video/media development and support with faculty, primarily for extended campus courses

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or Educational Technology with teaching experience or Master’s degree in Instructional Design or Educational Technology. 2-3 years of experience in the field. Prior experience in course design and development, teaching experience, online training, knowledge of digital media, design and video platforms. Prior experience designing and developing printed and digital materials. Prior experience and/or knowledge of the best practices of instructional design and course design and development.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience with Quality Matters and Canvas.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges.
