Job Summary

This is a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in the Community Health Program, located in the School of Human Sciences, within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Human Services Bachelor of Science Program and graduate courses in the Master of Public Health Program, maintain an active research portfolio, and engage in university, school, program and professional service activities. The Master of Public Health Program at UNC is a partner in the collaborative Colorado School of Public Health (i.e., 3 partner campuses: UNC, Colorado State University and University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus).

Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate in public health, or a closely related field, with research expertise in public health or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of effective university teaching using a variety of methods, including online instruction in the following topics, public health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, and foundations of public health at the graduate level. Evidence of public health-focused research and experience with public health-related community outreach.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
