Job Summary

Applicants should have a strong interest in teaching undergraduates in the domains of web development, cybersecurity, and programming. Other teaching opportunities include project management, database and networking. Non-technical requirements include an enthusiastic commitment to Computer Information Systems/ Software Engineering (CIS/SE) education and teaching excellence; demonstrated ability to publish in relevant journals; willingness to work with high schools, community colleges, and the business community to further the goals of the department, college, and university; and evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred applicants will have completed a Ph.D. in MIS, SE, CIS or related field from an AACSB or ABET accredited institution. ABD candidates in the final stages of the dissertation process will be considered if evidence exists of completing their degree program prior to August 2018. Collegiate teaching experience required. Candidates must be academically qualified and instructionally current to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
