Job Summary

This hiring pool is for a temporary, part time position in any area of Science Education. We deliver science education courses to secondary, elementary, and early childhood pre service teachers. Positions are available on the Greeley, Lowry, Colorado Springs, and Loveland Campuses.

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate Courses: Have a master’s degree with 18 hours of content in a field closely related to the instructional assignment. OR Have a bachelor’s degree in the discipline or a closely related field and possess experience and documentation in some of the following areas to qualify under ‘tested experience’: holds national board certification or passed appropriate pedagogical and/or content assessment and/ or holds a state teaching license in the field they will be teaching; has been a K-12 school leader with a minimum of 3 years leading the program relevant to the UNC courses to be taught; Publication(s) in primary literature of the discipline or closely related field; Honors, awards, or special recognition related to the discipline or a closely related field, Recognition of competency by professionals within the discipline or a closely related field, such as leading professional workshops, professional organization work beyond active membership, and/or professional development activity

Graduate Courses: Have the terminal degree in a field closely related to the instructional assignment OR Have a master’s degree in the discipline or a closely related field and possess experience and documentation in some of the following areas to qualify under ‘tested experience’: holds national board certification or passed appropriate pedagogical and/or content assessment and/ or holds a state teaching license in the field they will be teaching; has been a K-12 school leader with a minimum of 5 years leading the program relevant to the UNC courses to be taught; Publication(s) in primary literature of the discipline or closely related field; Honors, awards, or special recognition related to the discipline or a closely related field Recognition of competency by professionals within the discipline or a closely related field, such as leading professional workshops, professional organization work beyond active membership, and/or professional development activity

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
