Job Summary

This hiring pool is for a full or part-time Teacher-in-Residence (TIR) who will work with the new Mines-UNC STEM Teacher Preparation Program. The TIR is an important piece of this Teacher preparation program bringing fresh experience from the secondary classroom. They will recruit future teachers, advise students, build relationships with partner schools, co-teach methods and supervise candidates during field experiences. This position will be based out of the Mines campus in Golden, CO.

Minimum Qualifications

High School physics teaching experience.
3 years science teaching experience at the 7-12 level.
Demonstrated knowledge of research based teaching practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with pre-service science teachers.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.

Additional Requirements

Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
